ABOUT US

Capital City Illinois Indivisible (CCII) is a local chapter of the national Indivisible movement. We began in April 2025 to create a welcoming community in Springfield, IL for all who care about democracy and the rule of law. Across the country, thousands of local Indivisible groups and more than a million members take action together. We stand up against authoritarianism, strengthen democracy, and support leaders who defend our freedoms.

We believe that organized people can overcome organized hate. That’s why we commit to nonviolence in everything we do—whether at protests, meetings, or in our everyday advocacy. We reject all forms of political violence and intimidation. This isn’t just a moral choice—it’s a strategic one. Real and lasting change comes from building trust, standing together, and staying disciplined, even when challenged.

We value civic engagement, nonviolence, and inclusion. We know our neighbors are from all walks of life.There are many different opinions. But we all want what's best for our country. No matter where we come from, we share the same values of fairness, dignity, and hope for the future.
